2019 Seasonal Gathering

Site Information

The Gorge

The site this year is very rustic. There's no electricity, little or no mobile coverage, and a good likelihood that hot water will not be available on demand. There is a 'donkey boiler' for showers and flushing toilets however we recommend you bring your own drinking water. If you don't know what a 'donkey shower' is, see this link for a similar system. We are happy to help if you need assistance with this, just ask us.

Our site has very limited bunk style accommodation but plenty of room for tents, caravans and campers. Toilets and showers are available however you will need to heat your own water. There are fireplaces for cooking that require you to BYO wood (also needed for showers) and catering will not be supplied. Local shops are not too far away by car, as are a few restaurants and other eateries.

Aratula is a picturesque destination, popular with locals and tourists to the area. It is popular with hiking, boating, and water skiing enthusiasts. The creek is suitable for canoeing (if you BYO canoe) but not suited for power boats.

The Gorge is located ninety minutes drive south west of Brisbane Airport via the Cunningham Highway. For a little more scenery, take the route from Ipswich or the Gold Coast through Boonah's countryside. Precise directions will be provided to registered attendees.

Aratula is surrounded by beautiful natural areas including the Moogerah Peaks National Park and Main Rain National Park.
